Our kennel is in 2005 moved from the Netherlands to Norway.
Here in Norway we live 1 km. outside a little village named Slidre, in the heart of the Valdresarea (Østlandet). If you like nature, mountains, hiking and hunting Norway is a much better country to life then Holland.

 

We never regret our decision to move.
In fact, we feel completly home here between the mountains and woods.
We have snow here from around oktober to april and in wintertime I like to go on ski with my dogs (skikjøring)

 

 

In Holland it was only possible to do bloodtracking with the dogs.
Unless they were very good in it, it's not where a Laika is ment for.
A Laika is breed to hunt as a free dog.
Here in Norway the dogs get al possibilities to train their huntinginstincts.
In the time there's no snow I like to make hikingtrips with the dogs in the woods and mountains here.

I have 4 dogs,1 Westsiberian Laikafemale named Woesjka and 3 Russo-European Laiki:
Kiara, her son Pjotr and recently I imported the femaleTaina from Finland.
All dogs can get along with eachother very good and everyone have beside their own individual characater also much common, typical Laikabehaviour.
Laiki are still close to nature, and behave very natural.

If Taina grow out to a good huntingdog and get certificates for hunting and get good hipresults
it's possible I will breed her with our Pjotr (recognized breedmale by the norwegian and swedish Laikaclub) So I can keep at least one puppie myself from this combination.
But breeding is not my first goal. I have my dogs on the first place for my own pleasure.
Only if the dogs are good enough in all way and I'm sure that I can breed REL which will be potential good huntingdogs and are confirm the breedstandard I will breed.

Now and then we go to a dogshow, mostly huntingdog-shows, but not that often.
We prefer to spent our time in the woods!
