General
view and constitutie-type. Dog of average size. Dry, strong type of
constitution.
Type of behaviour. Balanced, mobile, with well advanced, rough reaction. The friendly attitude to
human is typical. The characteristic course at work - gallop, from time to time
alternating with trot.
Size. The
height on the withers for males is 52-58 cm, for females 48-54 cm.
The height
in croup at males on 1-2 cm is lower, then in withers. At females - it is equal
or is lower then 1 cm. index of prolixity for males 100-103, for females 100-105
Lacks: Size of males is lower or higher limiting. Size of females is higher limiting
on 2 cm.
Defects: The deviation from standard size of more than 2 cm
for males and for females lower than the limit of standard size.
Colour. Black-skewbald. Monophonic - black or white. Ticking on legs and ears is undesirable.
Lacks: Grey colour,. ticking on the head and rusty ticking on legs
in tone colours.
Defects: Red colour, ticking on a trunk., ticking on
the head and legs not in tone colour. Brown and tiger colours put a dog outside
of breed.
Coat. Hard, protecting
hair, well developed. The magnificent Underfur is dense and soft. On the head
and ears the hair is dense, but short. On the neck and shoulders it is developed
more magnificently and forms a collar ( mufti), connecting with the hair growing
behind the cheekbones, forming whiskers. On the shoulder hair is lengthened, especially
at males. Legs are covered with short,stiff and dense hair. On the back part of
the legs the hair is lengthened, but without feathering.On the paws the hair is
short and rigid, making the way between fingers forming a brush. The tail is covered
with stif hair , the hair from the bottom part is longer, but not plumage-like.
Lacks:
Absence collar and whiskers. (Not during the period of moulting).
Defects: Wavy and curly or with parting on the back coat, weak development of underfur,
too long hair on the bottom part of the tai(plumage-like)l, feathering on the
back part of forlegs. Hair too short or too long put a dog outside of breed.
Leather.
Muscles. Skeleton. Leather dense., elastic, without friable hypodermic
checks and fold. Muscles dry, well advanced. Skeleton strong. A grasp of the midfoot
must be males 10-12 cm, at females 9-11 cm
Defects: deviations from
the standard.
Head. Dry, sight
from above -wedge shaped-., coming nearer to an equipotential triangle.
With
rather wide occipital part of the cranium in comparison with the West-Siberian
Laika.
Muzzle dry and pointed. The length of the muzzle is a little bit shorter
than the length of the cranium.
Transition from the forehead to the muzzle
is expressed, not sharply, but the moveable eyebrow arches create impression of
the expressed transition.
The top line of the muzzle is parallel to the line
of the forehead. Cheekbones are well expressed, that is typical for the breed.
Therefore transition from cheekbones to the muzzle is clearly expressed. The cranium
is rather short, its length insignificantly exceeds width. Parietal crest and
occipital ridge are imperceptible.
The occipital part of the cranium is approximated.
Lips dry, skin tight, without hanging over.
Lacks: Convex forehead.
Partial depigmentation from the nose, lips or eyelid. sunken eyebrow arches should
be carried to lacks or defects depending on the degree of expressiveness.
Defects: Head lengthened. Absence expressed, or presence of sharp transition from the forehead
to the muzzle, hitched up. Too lengthened or a massive muzzle. A straight line
from lips. Absence of the expressed cheekbones.
Ears.
Pricked, small, mobile, highly put in the form of a triangle with a wide basis.
Tops sharp.
Lacks: Standing out, low planted, integrated, inactive.
Defects: With round top, ear - trailing, to low implant, on the cartilage,
with hanging down tops put a dog outside of breed.
Eyes. Small, oval, moderately slanted, not sunk down and not protruding, a lively look,
the colour is brown in any tint.
Lacks: Light eyes, round and direct
cut, very big or very small eyes, hollow, - belong to lacks or defects depending
on the degree of expressiveness.
Defects: White, yellow, green or grey
colour of the eyes, other colors
Teeth and
bite. teeth are white, large enough, well developed, strong, tight
skin, full dental formula, scissors-bite.

Neck. Muscular, dry,
oval in section, the length is equal to the length of the head.
Position of
the neck in relation to the longitudinal axis of the trunk under a corner from
45 up to 50 degrees.
Lacks: Low or vertically put, long, loose-hanging
under the throat, overloaded neck
Defects: The same deviations, but
expressed in a sharper degree.
Withers:
Well developed, sharply expressed, especially at males.
Lacks: absence
of the expressed withers at males.
Back. Strong, muscular, straight, broad, rather short.
Lacks: Soft, narrow,
convex springy.
Defects: Hanging through, humpbacked.
Waist. Short, wide, brawny, slightly convexed.
Lacks: A long waist,
straight, slightly humpbacked.
Defects: the same deviations, but expressed
in a sharper degree.
Croup. Wide,
rather short, slightly sloping.
Lacks: Narrow, horizontal, little bit
oblique.
Defects: The same deviations, but expressed in a sharper degree.
Breast. Wide and deep, in sections perceptible, reach up to the elbows.
Lacks: flat, too outstanding, opened, does not reach up to the elbows.
Defects: the same deviations, but expressed in a sharper degree.
Belly. Picked up, the transition from the breast to the belly
is clearly expressed.
Lacks: unduly expressed transition.
Front
limbs Shoulders moderately slanting, the legs brawny, dry, when survey
in front straight and parallel. The length of the legs is a little bit more than
half of the height on the withers. Elbow bones are developed and directed strictly
back. Midfoot rather short, hardly inclined.
Lacks: Too straight shoulders,
slightly curved forearms which be turned out a little bit, inside or outside elbows.
Straight or unduly inclined midfoot.
Defects: The same deviations, but
expressed in a sharper degree.
Hind limbs. At side-view corners of joints are well expressed. At survey from behind
the legs are straight and parallel. Shins long enough. The plumb, let down from
hip downwards, pass the forward part of midfoot. Midfoot is almost steeply.
Lacks: Too little angled joints, a little bit pulled together or developed hocks, narrow
position of the legs (at survey behind).
Defects: The same deviations,
but expressed in a sharper degree.
Paws. Oval, the toes connect close to each other. Declaws(fifth toe) on back legs are
undesirable, and if presence it is recommended to remove.
Lacks: Too
long paws -oval form, the removed declaws
Tail. Carried by a ring or a sickle on the back or over a hip. The length
should reach up to the hock or 1-2 cm shorter.
Lacks: Too long tail,
a sickle not touching the back.
Defects: A tail as a sultan, a rod
